We’re always interested to hear from families involved in or affected by the bombing at Wilkinsons. Please get in touch and tell us your story.
Despite a good trawl of the local library there appears to be few contemporary photos of the surrounding streets and there are no known extant photos of the Wilkinson’s building itself.
Perhaps you know different?
We’d love to hear from anyone who can add to the story of the air raid disaster.
Can anyone tell us about the memorial service for the victims held at St Augustine’s Church?
Do you have memories of Kettlewell School?
What about the old Public Baths on Saville Street which was used as a temporary mortuary.
What can you tell us about the AA and barrage balloon emplacement at Dockwray Square?
What did the Pontons Buildings on King Street look like?
