Great timing (just as we were about to update the very item) from site visitor Ken…pointing out a location error on our Archive Resource : Luftwaffe Aerial Photograph.
We had Marden Quarry down as an AA installation identified by the Luftwaffe.
Now with more up to date information provided by The Defence of Britain Project (which has released a fantastic Google Earth layer with all known UK WW2 defensive installations), It would appear that at the school end of (present day) Lambley Avenue (in gardens between Lambley and Beach Croft Ave) there was an AA Rocket Battery and that there was also a Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery sited on the corner of (present day) Ealing Drive/Beach Croft Ave.
